Lucy and Daniel’s ‘Fairey’tale Wedding at Mitton Hall

Dan proposed at the top of a castle on a city break weekend away to Krakow for my birthday. 

I always said if I was to get married it would be at Mitton Hall. I love the traditional feel of the building and the roaring fire but the modern light conservatory for the wedding breakfast. It also has beautiful grounds.

As I was becoming a ‘Fairey’ I wanted my wedding to be like a real-life fairytale. I chose soft blush colours and large floral displays by Flower Design. I wanted a sophisticated and romantic feel to the day. 

As I got married at a Church, I chose the traditional Canon in D by Pachelbel to walk down the aisle to.

We chose the traditional three course wedding breakfast options and gave our guests a choice between soup or tart, chicken or beef, crumble or sticky toffee pudding. We wanted to keep it traditional but give our guests an option. 

All the guests also enjoyed the pies, which was our choice of evening food and the dessert table supplied by Finch Bakery and wedding cake by Poppy Pickering. 

We had a saxaphone player during the welcome drinks and canapes and a pianist during the wedding breakfast. We had a band, the Funtime Frankies play at our evening reception, along with a DJ from DFC. 

Kerry Woods was our photographer and she had been highly recommended to me. RTP film was our videographer, and were amazing at capturing our special day. 

Our wedding coordinator was great. This was our third change of date due to COVID but they were always on hand to assist with rearranging dates and advising on next steps. 

My mum helped me plan the wedding but I think the main thing that brought our wedding to life was the flowers provided by Flower Design. They made my floral dream comes true. 

From start to finish, the wedding day was the fairytale that I had dreamt of. All my suppliers were amazing and went above and beyond; I was treated like a princess. We used the hashtag #letthefaireytalebegin and that is exactly what it was!
