Choosing June for their big day, as they both wanted a summer wedding, the couple got married at Holmes Mill on 1st June 2018. They now live in Chorley with their Persian cat, Maggie, and have recently had a new addition to their family – their first baby.
Both our ceremony and reception were held at Holmes Mill in Clitheroe. We wanted something a little different to all the typical wedding halls and barns, and something with more character. We wanted a laid-back, non-formal day and Holmes Mill had the right atmosphere for that.

Our theme was very laid back. We had lots of plants and flowers hanging from the ceiling, above the aisle, during the ceremony. This also created the dancefloor area for the reception.
Balmorhea’s Baleen Morning.

We had Prosecco and personalised beers for our welcome drinks in The Engine Room. For our main meal, we had afternoon tea – I still wish I could eat it again!
Our DJ was from DFC and he was spot on.
We didn’t have a first dance – the thought filled me with absolute dread! We did have a special song played at the end of the night though, which just me and Liam knew about. It was Tom Odell’s Grow Old with Me.

Our photographer was Heather Capture. We’d had some family photos done previously for Liam’s Mum’s birthday and they were so good. Her style is very natural and not posey or forced, which we loved.
Our wedding coordinator was Stacey at Holmes Mill. She was great at adapting what the venue could do to our needs, and we had multiple run-throughs of the day to make sure everything was covered. All the staff on the day were fantastic. Nothing was too much trouble and there were no issues throughout the whole day.
My Dress was from Kimberley Anne Bridal Boutique in Clitheroe. Liam’s suit was made by I am Suit and was a green wool cashmere-mixed three piece. Hair and makeup was done by Nala & Knot: Bridal Hair & Makeup. My hairpiece and bridesmaids’ earrings were made by Anita @ Earth Links.
The bridesmaid dresses were from ASOS, and the Groomsmen and bridesman suits were from Slaters Menswear. Flowers were from The Flower Shop in Clitheroe, and all of our stationery was done by Liam’s best man, Sean.
